The women of Kīlauea call out a greeting
To the lovely yellow blossoms of māmane
Nestled with deep green palapalai fern
In the cool Pu‘ulena breeze

Like a bird, Ka‘uiki shyly gazes upon
The beauty of the verdant maidenhair ferns
Sprinkled with hīnano pollen
In the Uakea rain of Pueokahi

An owl watches over the favored child
Who delights in stringing golden lehua petals
And strands of deep red ‘a‘ali‘i
A test of patience in Mānoa’s Haukani wind

Land shells sweetly sing
Upon the ridge imbued with sweet mokihana
Mingled with the fragrance of laua‘e
Drenched in the sudden downpour at Hā‘ena

My song is for the beloved child
And her many adornments, so cherished
For Keawaiāuluakealoha
Kamaehuokalani is this name song
