My mom used to make this when she felt like eating dessert but didn’t want to work too hard. Yeah, it’s easier to scoop ice cream into a bowl, but this dish is super ‘ono. Enjoy!
YIELD:
This recipe makes 4 servings.
INGREDIENTS:
4 bananas (Williams bananas are the best, but apple bananas work too)
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup pineapple juice
3 tbsp sherry
½ cup chopped nuts (any kind is good, but macadamia nuts are the best)
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp nutmeg
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Peel the bananas and put them into a baking dish.
Mix the brown sugar, nutmeg, pineapple juice, and sherry and pour them over the bananas.
Finely chop the nuts and sauté them in the butter. Sprinkle over bananas.
Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until bananas are tender and lightly glazed.
Serve with ice cream or yogurt.
