RAPA NUI
Partnerships & Declarations
The ‘Aha Moananuiākea Pacific Consortium has established cultural partnerships in Rapa Nui that foster knowledge sharing, and cultural exchange between the Mā‘ohi of Rapa Nui, and the Kānaka Maoli, the Native Hawaiian people of Hawai‘i. It is with honor that we join with Foundation Ao Tupuna and NGO Toki of Rapa Nui to celebrate and promote our shared Polynesian heritage.
This 27-minute virtual ceremony, held on March 8, 2021, connected atolls and high islands from Micronesia to Hawaiʻi in honor of Pius Mau Piailug and the Assembly of Micronesian Pwo Navigators.
